| WITH the aim of
producing experts in Islamic medicines in Brunei, Darusysyifa
Warrafahah (Medical and Islamic Welfare Association of Brunei
Darussalam) organised its first basic course at the Darulifta, State
Mufti Department, yesterday. A total of 140 participants attended the course which featured Professor Dato' Dr Harun Din, the course leader, who through his discourses will exchange ideas and knowledge based on Islamic medication and help instil and propagate the true essence of Islam to all Bruneians as a way of life. It also aims to include all aspects of welfare, education, society and medication, and to collaborate with other agencies that have the same objective for the welfare and development of Islam and its followers. Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Dr Ustaz Hj Abdul Aziz Juned, the State Mufti, was present as the guest of honour at the event. In his speech, Dato Paduka Dr Ustaz Hj Abdul Aziz said the verses of Al-Quran and dzikrullah can cure strange ailments. Also present was Dato Paduka Ahmad Bukhari PSK Hj Abu Hanifah, the chairman of Darusysyifa Warrafahah . The course, which began yesterday, will continued until June (once a week) in order to fulfil the participants' attendance requirement of 10 sessions (80 hours). If any of the participant is found to be weak in Al-Quran reading and memorisation, he would be required to attend extra classes to improving these two skills.(RSH1) The Brunei Times |
